More than 100 Transport for London workers have died from Covid -19.

75 worked on buses while 23 worked on the Tube network according to TfL figures.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan says there’s “a range of additional support for families and colleagues where there has been a bereavement".

It was the death of Croydon bus driver Kofi Opoku that sparked calls for the introduction of tougher safety measures for transport staff.

The 55 year old passed away during the second wave of the pandemic on in October 2020.
