One person’s been taken to hospital after 60 firefighters tackled
a blaze on the 12th floor of a tower block in Shepherd’s Bush.
Two more were treated for the effects of smoke at the scene
on Queensdale Crescent by paramedics. .
Six people were led to safety via an internal staircase
before the fire was extinguished. Other residents who were not affected by the
fire, heat or smoke, were advised to stay in their flats.
The brigade says it used a 32 metre turntable ladder to pour
water on the outside of the building.
They also live-streamed video of the incident’s early stages
to their control room while taking around 30 calls about it.
The affected block is just a mile away from he scene of the
Grenfell Tower fire which claimed the lives of 72 people.
