Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a garage fire in Croydon on Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters tackled the fire which broke out around 4pm  and spread from the garage to two properties and a car.

The fire was under control at about 5.30pm but caused damage to a detached house, a semidetached bungalow and completely destroyed a car and a detached garage 

The cause is being investigated.
