Talks are going on to try and stop 10% of frontline South East Coast Ambulance Service having to leave.

SECAMB has been looking at a new fleet of vans, which could have meant a tenth of staff would be too small or tall to ride in safely.

The GMB Union calls it a “bizarre and economically driven proposal” that would have affected who the service can hire in the future.

The plans have been paused to allow further discussions to take place.
