Co-op stores across Surrey have teamed up with surplus food app “Too Good To Go” to help reduce food wastage

Shoppers can use the app to find and purchase so called “magic bags.”

The bags are filled with food near its expiry date which would otherwise go to landfill and sold at a third of the original value.

More than 5,800 bags have been distributed in Kent, London, Surrey and East Sussex since the end of January.
