A number of Lime e-bikes have apparently been “dumped” on the side of a residential road in New Malden.
People living in Coombe Road claim 9 of the bright green rental bikes have been abandoned over the last few days.
Elsewhere, Westminster Council has begun seizing dockless bikes left on roads and pavements saying they are hazardous to pavement users.
Lime says it will collect any e-bikes immediately that have not been parked responsibly after they have been used.
The company says it would like to work with Kingston Council to install designated e-bike parking bays.
A spokesperson for Lime e-bikes says:
Our bikes are not dumped, they are used by local residents, commuters and visitors as a sustainable way of travelling around London, who then park them at their end destination. We regularly remind users to park responsibly, and will fine and ban users that leave bikes antisocially or obstructively. If a bike has been left obstructively in Kingston, we will collect it immediately. We would also like to work with Kingston to create designated e-bike parking bays, to ensure our riders always have a responsible place to park in the borough.
