Twickenham Stoop pays tribute to Her Majesty The Queen ahead of Harlequins vs Saracens
Following the one-minute silence at the Twickenham Stoop in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, both Harlequins and Saracens teams and fans joined together to sing 'God Save The King' led by classical singer Camilla Kerslake, wife of former Quins captain Chris Robshaw.
What followed was an exciting clash between these two London rivals. The hosts started with a brace of tries from Cadan Murley within the opening 10 minutes. Saracens clawed their way back through scores from Daly and Malins, before Joe Marchant extended the lead for Quins heading into half time.
Another try from Malins along with Tomkins adding his name to the scorecard for Saracens saw them pull ahead. Daly used his long-range boot to secure a penalty from just inside the half-way line and Farrell, whose kicking had faltered in the first half under the watchful eye of England Head Coach Eddie Jones, brought it back in line when the pressure was on.
It was an heroic effort from Harlequins - two players earned their first caps in premiership rugby competition; the team played over half the game without captain and powerhouse Dombrandt who had to leave the field in the 38th minute; fly-half Allan carried out a 100% kicking success rate,
Saracens proved victorious at final whistle.
Full Time: Harlequins 27 - 30 Saracens
Head Coach at Harlequins, Tabai Matson, summarised his thoughts in the post-match press conference:
