A mum from Twickenham who bought two Harry Potter books over 20 years ago is in line to make thousands of pounds today
The 1st editions were bought for £4.99 each at the Lion and & Unicorn bookshop in Richmond for Tessa Prince’s young sons, John and Billy. Tessa says she had no idea they were first editions until years later. The story is made even more magical because of the fact one of the copies is signed by author JK Rowling herself. The copy of the Philosopher’s Stone is potentially worth £4,000-£6,000. The Chamber of Secrets has been valued at between £1,000 and £1,500. The Harry Potter books, lot 23 and 28, will be offered by Hanson’s Auctioneers today.
