Wandsworth Council could start impounding Lime e-bikes on Friday
Council leader Simon Hogg has written to CEO Wayne Ting to warn him more needs to be done to stop them blocking pavements. He says they are causing serious obstructions for residents, shoppers and visitors to the borough, prompting a “flood” of complaints. Cllr Hogg also says the current deployment of Lime e-bikes has been done without discussion with the Council. The council will start impounding them on Friday if urgent action isn’t taken to rectify the situation. Westminster Council issued a similar ultimatum in August and Kingston Council asks people use Human Forest, its official e-bike partner, and not Lime. A spokesperson for Lime told us that all e-bikes that are reported as causing a problem are collected quickly.
