Mums planning a homebirth in Chelsea this week are being warned about the impact ambulance strikes may have on their decision
Staff are due to walk out on Wednesday for 12 hours between 11am and 11pm. But Chelsea and Westminster Hospital trust says there is no guarantee that an ambulance or paramedic will arrive at your home if there’s a complication. Medical staff say the days around this date may also be affected and ambulances may take longer to reach homes than usual. In view of this, it’s strongly recommended that if you go into labour on Wednesday that you give birth at hospital instead. This could be at either Chelsea and Westminster Hospital or West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth.
