Labour is promising £360 million for local policing if it gets into power
Feltham MP, Seema Malhotra, says officers are having to “prioritise constantly” due to a lack of resources. Home office minister Robert Jenrick says the plans aren’t “credible” and they’ve given an above-inflation boost to policing. There are calls for reviews of more police forces, after a serving Humberside officer spoke of how she was left traumatised by sexual abuse from a colleague. Yesterday, a report found evidence of institutional racism, misogyny and homophobia at Scotland Yard. Ms Malhotra says she’s visited people in Bedfont who are increasingly anxious.
