More than 1,000 complaints were made against police officers and staff over their treatment of women during a six-month period
The National Police Chiefs' Council says it identified 653 conduct cases, involving 672 individuals, across England and Wales between October 2021 and March last year. Sexual harassment and assault were among the allegations. The Met Police says they recognise more needs to be done, and they’ve set up a dedicated abuse team, anti-corruption team and report hotline.
