The controversial migration bill that saw Gary Linekar being taken off air has passed its second reading in the House of Commons
Wimbledon Tory MP Stephen Hammond says he’s “extremely concerned” about a number of aspects of the legislation. He’s calling on the government to provide their legal advice around the bill, which is said to be in tension with international law. However, he voted for the bill last night. The government says the bill will crack down on dangerous small boat crossings and illegal migration. The bill will now go to committee stage, and amendments will be debated.
