Two areas of Hampshire are going to be given access to Runnymede’s CCTV network.
Runnymede’s control room includes nearly 70 cameras which are used by the council and other bodies like the NHS and Police.
They cover car parks, town centres and open spaces to help improve safety.
Rushmoor Borough Council and Hart District Council will pay to use the cameras in their own areas.
Extra staff have been recruited to ensure the sustainability of the service to Runnymede’s residents. The joint working also means that all calls will now be taken by the control room, freeing up duty officers to respond to urgent incidents.
