It’s after two people became trapped on their inflatable kayak by the gates of Molesey Weir earlier this week.
Although experienced river users, the undercurrent caught them off guard, resulting in two lifeboats being sent on a rescue mission.
The RNLI says any water user should carry a phone to call 999 for help in an emergency and wear buoyancy aids.
