A former Fulham player who scored four own goals at the club has opened up about why.

John Paintsil, speaking to Kasapa FM in Ghana, says it was because then-manager Mark Hughes was procrastinating over his plans for him.

He says "I lost my mental strength" and he considered retiring from the game entirely.

He left the club on a free transfer to Leicester City in 2011, and stopped playing in 2016.
