A group of gyms are calling the decision to open pubs but not indoor fitness centres “a victory for vested interests” and “publicity”.

In a letter in The Times, branches of CrossFit, including Twickenham and Sunbury, are calling for the sector to reopen.

They argue their buildings comprise “large warehouse-style gymnasiums” where social distancing is easy.

A government spokeswoman says they're continuing to work with the sector, and are "fully committed" to making sure the public can exercise.
