An appeal has gone out to young people in Richmond and Twickenham, asking them to write a letter to elderly residents in carte homes. Richmond Council says it hopes the scheme, which it’s calling LovThroughTheLetterbox, will help older people feel more connected and revive the lost art of letter-writing among the young. The council says either words or a picture will do. All letters dropped off at the civic centre on York Street in Twickenham will be distributed among the borough’s 48 care homes.
