Developers hoping to build in Richmond in the future will have to make sure their projects produce “zero carbon” emissions

An updated council planning document, last revised in 2016, has been published.

An increased levy of £95 per tonne of carbon, will now be added to a Carbon Offset Fund if the target isn’t met.

Money from the fund will be spent on carbon offsetting projects in the borough to tackle the “growing climate emergency.”
