Richmond Council is seeking permission to intervene in Heathrow airport’s appeal to expand

The Court of Appeal blocked the airport’s plans to build a third runway in February.

But bosses and the construction company involved in expansion are preparing to take their appeal to the Supreme Court.

Richmond wants permission to intervene as a so-called “interested party.”

The authority says being represented at the hearing would mean it can ensure “the strong arguments against expansion are fully aired.”
