There has been a 400% increase in garden bonfires in Richmond since lockdown started

The Council is urging residents to avoid lighting bonfires and BBQs in the borough’s parks and green spaces.

Smoke in the atmosphere can exacerbate respiratory problems for Covid sufferers and cause shielding people to remain inside.

The resultant effect could add additional burden to the NHS and residents are reminded that fines can also be imposed.
