40 arrests have been made in two weeks, during a crackdown in drink and drug driving in Surrey.

Police are urging people to plan ahead before a night out, to book a taxi, or get a lift with somebody sober.

237 vehicles were stopped, with 24 people taken into custody for a positive drug wipe, 15 for a breath test, and one for both.

People caught for driving under the influence risk a minimum year-long ban, an unlimited fine, and a criminal record.
