A pet cat has become the first animal in the UK to test positive for coronavirus

It's thought it caught the illness from its owner, who previously had Covid-19.

The pet's from England, with the test carried out in Weybridge.

The animal has since recovered, and the UK's Chief Veterinary Officer says there's no evidence it passed Covid-19 onto its owners.

Government advice is to wash your hands before and after contact with animals.
