A Tory MP's been kicked out of the Conservative parliamentary party after going against the wishes of Number Ten


Julian Lewis was earlier elected by members of the Intelligence and Security Committee as its chair, working with opposition MPs to win that vote.

But it was widely believed Downing Street wanted former transport secretary and Epsom MP Chris Grayling to get the job.

Mr Lewis will oversee the release of a report into alleged election meddling by Russia, which the government have been accused of sitting on for nine months.
