The fight to stop Heathrow expansion cost councils and campaigners nearly £1m

That’s according to Freedom of Information Requests by campaign group Back Heathrow.

Around half of that came from Transport for London, with Hammersmith and Fulham putting in £35,000 in legal fees.

In February, the Appeal Court ruled against expansion, but the Supreme Court will revisit the case in the autumn.
