Richmond council has condemned reports claiming the borough is just days away from a new lockdown as scaremongering.
Council officers say the infection rate is low in in the area, and they’ve urged residents to base their decisions on evidence, and called for accurate reporting.
Last week neighbouring Hounslow council wrote to residents to say fears of a fresh lockdown there were unfounded too.
The Evening Standard recently reported that infection rates in Hounslow are above the national average.
