Work has started to register a backlog of almost 4,000 babies born during the pandemic

Registry offices in Weybridge and Leatherhead are some of first to get going again.

The 42-day time frame to register a child’s birth was relaxed but it is still required by law, to register face to face.

Marriage ceremonies and civil partnerships can also now be booked to give notice of impending marriages.
