The Standard reports that 44-year-old Mark Brazant has a history of schizophrenia, and had a history of attacking lone women for no reason.
He attacked the woman on the 30th of December, after he went missing upon his release from prison on Christmas Eve.
The woman is still having treatment for scars.
He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
