A year-long campaign to encourage women to get fit before trying for a baby has been launched in Surrey

It’ll focus on a different aspect of health each month, and how to improve couple’s chances of conceiving and having a healthy baby.

Gemma Puckett from Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital says “there is a clear link between a mother’s health before pregnancy, the risks she is exposed to or exposes herself to, and her baby’s health”.

Information will be provided in a range of formats to support women who don’t speak English as their first language, and those from traveller backgrounds.
