Surrey's firefighters have "struggled" to maintain cover after a crew member tested positive for Covid-19.

That's according to Norbiton based Fire Brigades' Union which claims health and safety measures were not properly implemented.

It says the firefighter tested positive last week after undergoing two days of training exercises without proper inflection prevention.

The FBU says the move meant 20 more personnel had to be removed from duty for self-isolation.

We've contacted Surrey Fire and Rescue for comment.
