Over 5,000 people in Sutton who claim Universal Credit are at risk of being penalised financially.

That's according to the borough's Lib Dems, with new research showing job vacancies have plunged 63% due to Coronavirus.

Evidence of job hunting is required in order to claim the payment.

Although sanctions were paused during the Covid-19 pandemic, they are set to resume despite the job market collapsing.
