Wimbledon doubles champion Angela Buxton has died at the age of 85.

With African-American Althea Gibson, she won both the French Open and Wimbledon in 1956.

Afterwards, she and Gibson tried to apply for admission to the All-England Club, but both were rejected.

Buxton claimed it was due to her Jewish faith, something the club denies.

In her later years, she wrote books about the sport, and was inducted into two Jewish sports halls of fame.
