A consultation into Heathrow expansion has recommended charging airlines for lost money.

The hub had spent £500m before the Court of Appeal disallowed it on climate grounds.

A spokesperson for IAG, the parent company of British Airways, told The Telegraph that the plan would damage UK aviation.

A Heathrow spokesperson says an approach to costs was established “some time ago” which was approved by airlines including IAG.
