A Crowdfunding campaign to help save the Great River Race has surpassed £20,000 of its £35,000 target

The rowing competition, which launched in 1988, covers a 21-mile course on the Thames between Ham and Greenwich.

This month’s event has been cancelled for the first time in its 33-year history because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Roger Mutton is one of the campaigners trying to ensure its return a year from now.
