A wildlife charity in Leatherhead says it’s spoken to police after vets had to euthanise a pigeon.

The bird was found in Fairs Road last Friday and taken to Wildlife Aid Foundation animal hospital.

It’s thought the creature, which had a broken leg, had been shot with a catapult.

A post-mortem revealed its stomach was full of food suggesting its attacker had baited it before inflicting multiple injuries.
