Croydon Council says it has identified where it could make over £27 million in urgent savings

Councillors will meet tonight to discuss proposals.

Free bulky waste collections could go under the plans, and there could be an increase in parking charges and a review of children’s centres.

Councillors say the annual budget agreed in March is no longer balanced because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The authority says there is an inability to deliver 65% of the savings that were approved in the document.
