In Croydon, parking charges are set to go up and cuts are set to be made to children’s services.

It’s part of £12m worth of cuts following the Coronavirus crisis.

The parking charges will be based on the emissions of the vehicle.

Leader Tony Newman says while it’s a “challenge”, he’s “proud” of the way Croydon has risen to it.

It’ll have to be approved by the full council on Monday.
