Chiswick is appealing for someone with “a cool head and experience” to take the helm.
The commander will be in charge of the day-to-day running of the station based on the banks of the Thames.
Chiswick is the second busiest lifeboat station in the UK, behind Tower Station by Waterloo Bridge.
