Runnymede Council are facing an £800,000 “black hole” in their finances, after their investments didn’t do as well as hoped

 

Councils across England have been heavily investing in property since 2015 as a way to make money.

The Taxpayers Alliance has been looking at nine councils, and Spelthorne Council was the only one that saw returns match up with forecasts.
