The current Public Space Protection Order excludes dogs from specific areas such as open spaces, tennis courts and games areas.
The proposals being consulted would see the requirement for pet owners to carry suitable means for collecting any dog faeces.
A restriction on the number of animals that professional dog walkers can control at any given time is also being considered.
