Police say they know there were many witnesses to a fail to stop collision in Surbiton on Monday.
Officers were called to Victoria Road just after 3pm.
A 29 year old man was taken to a south London hospital where his condition was later assessed as non life-threatening.
The driver of the car involved did not stop at the scene and the vehicle was found abandoned a short time later further down the same road.
Officer want witnesses, anyone with dashcam footage, or anyone who believes they may have any information, to come forward.
