44-year-old Italian, Alessandro Maltese, was arrested in his home country and flown to Heathrow where he was charged.
Jewellery and cash worth 50-million-pounds were taken from the heiress while she was away for Christmas.
Mr Maltese, only appeared to state his name and will now appear at Isleworth Crown Court on November the 13th.
