As Candle Safety Week draws to a close London fire brigade has warned of the dangers they pose.

Last week a woman was led to safety after a candle fell over in a kitchen set light to a house in South Norwood. 

The brigade says candles started 660 fires in London last year. 

They’re urging people to always ensure candles are blown out before they leave a room, or switch to safer battery-powered imitation candles instead.
