People in Spelthorne are being thanked for their “tremendous effort” taking the borough off the COVID-19 watchlist.

But Council Leader John Boughtflower says “we must not rest on our laurel and think this virus has gone away”.

He’s urging people to  follow the rule of six, maintain social distancing, and wear face masks.

The infection rate was just over 50 per 100,000 when it was added, but has now halved.
