The Council has introduced the 24-hour cycle lane in both directions between Lion Gate and Kew Gardens Road.
The roads have been upgraded with a system of raised posts, known as wands or armadillos, to separate off the lanes.
Transport for London has funded the scheme for 18 months after which a traffic management order would be needed to continue.
