Spelthorne Council has declared a climate emergency, around a year later than most other councils in Surrey.

It says that its already taken measures including paperless meetings, tree planting, and having their offices reduce their energy use.

Many councils in Surrey declared one in June and July last year.

Reigate and Banstead, Tandridge, and Surrey Heath still have yet to formally declare.
