The most frequent type of hate crime reported in Richmond is centred around racism and religion.

 The figures have been released by the council as part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week.

There were 93 reports of racist and religious hate crimes in the borough between June and August: a 55% increase on last year.

Homophobic hate crime has also increased with 15 cases reported from June to August, compared to 4 last year.
