Hammersmith Bridge is to be replaced by a ferry service

As part of the recent TfL bailout, the operator will have to buy a ferry.

Procurement will start this week, and services will begin in the new year.

Part of the £1.7bn bailout will also go to looking into how the bridge can be brought back into use.
