The biggest spike was in Reigate and Banstead where 407 new cases were recorded on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Nine people died at Frimley Hospital of conditions related to Covid, while there were three new deaths at Ashford and St Peter’s, and another five at the Epson and St Helier University Hospitals Trust.
The news comes a little over 24 hours after the whole of the county was placed alongside London in the highest tier, Tier 4.
