The border force has joined up with Kew Gardens, to use artificial intelligence to track down plant smugglers

It’s to stop native and protected plants being wiped out by people importing exotic and rare varieties illegally.

The tool looks at online shopping sites for suspicious looking plants being offered by private sellers.

Some of the red flags include a high price, being directly sold from its home region, and no mention of permits for international shipping.
